ShamWow...Waaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!
Okay, I saw one of those infomercials on the ShamWow! and I thought "I've GOT to have one of those!!" It's one of those super towels that picks up a ton of liquid and doesn't drip, just squeeze it out and soak up some more! I (only half) joked that we need to put one under Grace's butt. It feels like we've been potty training FOREVER and between the pee puddles, the food and drink spills, this kid needs a wet/dry vac attached to her tush. I actually said out loud, "we need to put the ShamWow under Grace's bum..."
So one day I'm in the shower, the two little guys asleep, and Rose comes into the bathroom and says, "Hey Mom! we need to get a ShamWow!" and I cracked up. This kid is my clone.
So my loving husband, out one day shopping for sneakers for himself comes home with the as-seen-on-t.v. ShamWow and Grace actually started to cry saying she needed the ShamWow under her bum. Okay, so funny, and yet, sniff, sniff, Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!! I want to pull my hair out!!
The ShamWow does soak up liquid but even a miracle cloth like that doesn't alleviate my frustration.
Grace loves her underpants. She loves sitting on the toilet and wants nothing to do with a little potty. All fine by me. She even proudly says "no more diapers for me!" She goes everywhere in underpants and only wears diapers or pullups to sleep in. I bring extra clothes with us, encourage her to use potties everywhere we go, and she has honestly learned to hold her pee for hours on end, but she still just pees wherever and whenever she pleases!!
In an act of desperation I finally said, "no more juice til you go pee on the potty!" And "no snack today until you at least SIT on the potty!" and do you know what the child said? She said, "okay Mommy." Just goes to show the girl knows what's up. She's been happy to let me clean her puddles, even happy to help me clean her puddles, and happy to go on living like that. But now that her gig is up, I'm PRAYING she'll learn to use the toilet!!
